Press Release (2022) is an early experiment in generative text and image generation. This project was made using a custom python scraper that collected a dataset of press releases from Contemporary Art Daily. The data was used to fine-tune GPT-2. With the fine-tuned large language model, press-releases were generated. The text from the press-releases were used to generate images using dalle-mini. In Press Release, you will find uncanny language the parrots the prose that has come to define contemporary art english, as well as algorithmically generated images that awkwardly attempt to embody the complex and often non-sensical combination of concepts found in each artist statement.
